    Just Cuteness...

What is cuter and more fun than a new pup? Not much. Until this year I have only surprised Patty one time on her birthday. When she was 49, I managed to buy a red Corvette and throw a surprise party for her at a local restaurant. It was perfect. 50 of her best friends and a red Corvette.

Perhaps the best part was that an old girlfriend of mine, Carolyn, was there with my best old friend, Neil... It was Carolyn's birthday too, so after the surprise was spring, Patty and Carolyn took off on the Vette for 45 minutes.

Anyway Patty is now 69 years old and I sprung little, itty bitty, mili Australian Shepherd pup on her. Yes, she cried.

Our old Chihuahua, Roxy, is blind and on her last legs. She still travels with us but it won't last forever. We spent the last week in the motorhome with little Emma and it is obvious she will do fine.

Aaaww... lucky Patty! Guess what I got on my 70th birthday this summer? A toilet. Useful, but I wouldn't call it particularly "cute."

Some puppies don't like hugs, toilets always stand still for the embrace.

I'm definitely a dog person. congrats on the new dog, LHN.

Growley is barely limping these days. Back to his crazy self.

so the other night, I’m out there working on the cabin and it got dark. Dog wanted to lay out on a sand pile. No fence around the yard yet, but he doesn’t wander, like at all. So I’m in there chinking with lights on and doors open, and I hear a growl and a bark, which is weird cuz Growley isn’t a barky dog. I put everything down and go look - just in time to see some guy in a jacket walking back down the driveway - only made it a few feet in, then heard the dog and decided to leave. I don't know who he was, but it doesn't matter.

People don’t walk in our neighborhood because everything (the store, the post office, the gas station) is so far away, it would take an hour to get anywhere on foot. The only folks walking are the meth heads looking for stuff to steal. And they want easy pickings - they don’t want to deal with dogs.

so Growley got an atta-boy and a pat on the head.

Aww Ron, what a special suprise! I know she had a great birthday. I missed this thread till now. Our pup had a problem with us going up a ladder to sleep. She would stand and look up and ask how am I supposed to get up there. As the stairs went up she would climb up them and stand at the top to see if she could make it up. When finally in she was up in a flash checking out all she couldn't get to before.

Le Pew is on his first beach trip. I was worried about the spiral stairs in the condo, but turns out he navigates stairs and sand better than me.

We went out to our property today and the kids spent an hour chasing puppies around a 150+ year old little one room house full of stuff at the neighbors. My daughter finally came out with one and we just had to bring her home and add her to the pack... Meet Biscuit!

Might be the cutest and sweetest puppy I’ve ever seen. I took a peek at them earlier last week…. While all her siblings were barking and hiding, she was checking me out. I didn’t send my kids after any particular one but that’s the one they brought out. I’m a firm believer that they pick us.

Here's Emma, and her favorite non-human toys, settling in for another night on the road with the head Nut.

She is a natural traveling dog and loves our little 30 year old Toyota motorhome. I hope someday to be healthy and strong enough to see how she feels about several days on the big motorcycle.

Today we were walking around Redmond, and little Emma was playing a new game. She's seen snow, and rain, and plenty of mud, but never sleet (look it up, Allen). Her game was to grab each chunka sleet within 2 feet, before it settled after the first bounce.
