Has anyone built in OK? Can you give me any input? Is it an okay state to build in (no pun intended!)? Where do you get logs? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

IMHO the easiest place to start is a college forestry department. The right professor can steer you to the right forests in your state, or dash your hopes with cold water.

Ah, good info, thanks (including the fun fact, lol)! But IYHO, are OK trees adequate (height, girth)? And can an LHBA home withstand/endure the hot humid buggy climate?

Vern Street has probably (maybe) passed away by now, so I'll try to resurrect a memory.
His website seems defunct, but there may be content on the Internets waybackmachine http://www.vernstreet.com/
Somewhere there's a picture of Vern riding his very own ridge pole sort of like...
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.p.../RidingTheBomb
A DIY rebar frame and a saddle was involved.
Maybe someone who is brushed up on Asian language can translate what the site description now reads on Vern's old url, at least how it shows up in my browser history on today's date.
I believe Vern's wife commented on this FB post, Sara Sneed Street:

FB might be a way to contact her about her families OK experience with Butt and Pass (pun intended).
I have a simple theory regarding the question 'can a log home will work in any specific location?'... "Can a stick frame home work with wood siding in the same location?"
If yes, then generally log can work and worse case it's just about deciding on coating/sealants. But before the decision, note how that local wood siding is maintained and how long it lasts, and recognize that in some localities an enclosed wrap around porch minimizes a lot of maintenance issues.
I would suggest that no one go to vern street's seemingly defunct website.
I visited and it seems to have auto downloaded a file.
