Introduce Yourself II: Active LHBA Forum Members

    Hello, my name is Ellsworth.
I live in WA, near Skidaddle-Seattle.

For most of my life I have been a log-a-holic.
I've worked and/or volunteered and/or 'volunteered' with/for the LHBA for the better part of 50 years, doesn't make me special and it might prove I'm stupid

I married with a kid and do normal hobby stuff.
This week it's mostly been all furnace related and winter prep.

For active members, please check in and share a bit about yourself on this thread.

(Yes this is a shameless attempt at a head count, but it's also intended to increase communication)

    Hi Ellsworth,

My name is Jason, I took the class in 2015, am friends with LHN "aka Ron Smith" and live in Florida currently with my wife Lindsay.

I need to be more active on here and start taking time to share and ask questions. We now have my mom's property in Northern Georgia that we are working on to get ready to build a LHBA home . Thank's for sharing and revisiting this old thread lol.

Hello, my name is Tim Smith. I can't remember when I took the class... 2015-2018? I live outside of Winchester Va.

I finished my log home this past February, which took me and my father from the planning stages to "finished enough" about 5 years.

Hobbies? What are those? I feel like after the past 5 years I have no clue what those are.

I have two teenager daughters and a 2 year old granddaughter . They're partially why I forgot what hobbies are lol.

    Hi all,
Jeff here, took the class in '06 (holy cow) in the big cabin. It was awesome.

We built our first in Indiana from 07-09.
And finishing our second in Idaho, from 20-now.

I've been loghousenut since I was first walkable. My name is Ron Smith and I am friends with Ellsworth, Little Eagle, Steve, my Shark and most of the rest of them... Soon to be friends with that Infernal Fat Cat.

I live in Sunny Southern Oregon in our LHBA house. I proposed to my lovely Wife the night before we took the class from Skip in 1980.

My Hobbies are motorcycle wrecks, crutch walking, and blacksmith burns on the arms and legs.

Every time I have strayed from the teachings of Skip Ellsworth it has cost me money.

I love the mask mandate. I hardly ever have to bruh my teeth anymore.

My name is Bo. I think I took the class in 2008, in Las Vegas. Finished the home in 2015.
My hobby is taking care of our 80 acres and visiting the grand kids (12 of them).
    Currently adding a back deck/mudroom.

    Thanks for posting!
Nice to see you all, and the beautiful log cabins.

5 replies and already there's some great data.
Right off the bat it led to creating 2 categories or forum users: low active (5 posts or less per month), and high active (5 posts or more per month).

There's no judgement or social hierarchy in my use of the terms 'low' and 'high.'
I think that these days they refer to that as 'engagement' levels, on the various platforms like Facebook, Youtube, Da Insta, et cetera.

At first glance, we have 2 high active forum members and 3 low active forum members and 7000+ non-active members.

Hi Ellsworth, It's been a bit since I've been on. I sent you a message and emailed. My husband and I are members, we took the online class. Are you able to update my account so I can re-access the members area please?

    Thank you- Nichole

Between Steve and I, we did a piss poor job of maintaining membership records. It's a cruddy mix of at least three locations to check, and I have started the process for your account. Once again this older version of myself is kicking the younger version of myself.

Please always include a specific class date with customer service issues like this (printed on your membership card). It helps speed the process.
