Why does the LHBA have a health / fitness section

There are a few reasons why I made this health / fitness forum.

I've battled obesity most of my life, that's one reason.
I spent about a decade in my 40s loving fitness and then got derailed (I'm contemplating a re-start).

I've known other LHBA members who have battled obesity, cancer, mental health issues. car accidents, et cetera. We support each other regarding good log homes, perhaps we can support each other regarding good health.

But the main reason that sticks in my mind:

I worked a Sportsman's Expo in Salt Lake City... and an LHBA member who lived in that city. who happened to be a nurse, may have saved someone's life.
Because sometimes it's easier to listen to an LHBA member who is a stranger than it is to listen to a spouse, sibling, offspring, friend, co-worker or other family members.

If you ever think you're having a sudden onset health crisis, such as gallstones, a stroke, a heart attack, et cetera, please listen to the advice of 911, or your health provider's consulting nurse service, or first responders at the scene, et cetera. Perhaps listen to the pros, they know the statistics.

I'll keep contemplating resuming a lifestyle that involves weight training. And I don't need a nurse to call and tell me I should

A huge one that everyone likes to ignore.

    Sugar.

It is so bad for people, especially if you don't exercise enough to burn it off.

Do a Google search for how much sugar is in one can of pop/soda/Coke.

The math never works on that.
With few exceptions, mostly professional athletic professions, or commercial fishing, running demo, et cetera.

Go for a 20+ mile bike ride a few days a week.

You need a lot of calories....

I'm not saying sugar is a good source of those.

It's not a great idea to expose private health information about someone else, without their permission.

Especially on what is now a section of the forum that is wide open to the public and search engines.

If that's a request to delete then I'm happy to oblige.

There was no nefarious intent in telling the story of a real event and what inspired the action and what might inspire other's positive actions.

It is. Real events can be private too.
