    Tiling a Log Wall?

We are building a log home and want tile in several places on walls. Kitchen backsplash, above the stove, behind the wood stove, and in the shower. These are all currently log walls. The logs are going to move/shrink, so you can't tile on the logs, is there a way to attach concrete board that allows the walls to move? Or what are the options for doing this?

    Thanks!

I’ve never done it or seen it done. You might be able to cut slots in the cement board where you use the fasteners to attach it to the logs and use fender washers so the head won’t pop. Keep us posted on your method.

Frame a wall in front of the log wall, plumb it. Then backer board and tile.

This section of our kitchen is log behind.

You'll want a flat wall to attach the cabinets anyways.
