Finally, its ours!!!

At times it seemed like the first step would never happen, but on June 9th, 2011 we signed the papers and became the proud owners of 55 acres. Its a long drive to get there, its up in the mountains, but it has good access, lots of trees, and a good building site.

We spent all day there on the 10th. We made a campfire, cooked hot dogs for lunch, hiked around some of the trails, took some measurements to get an idea for setbacks, and let the boys shoot their .22 at some makeshift pop can targets. It was a beautiful day and I walked around with an amazing feeling inside. We talked about future plans, different possibilities, serious issues and fun things.

It was a great day.

    That is VERY Awesome.
    It is always an adventure when you're not just dreaming any more... you are LIVING the dream that you want.
    Enjoy that time with the kids.... My 3rd is leaving off to college next month and I only have 3 more left at home. The next one graduates next year, so they are gone all toooo quick.
    If I'd have planned better, I would have built the Log home while the 3 boys were still at home -- for that free labor I could have gotten out of them
