Dream House To Dream House

okay, here's where im at.... bought this thing in 2011 as a step to a dream of a log home that fits me... rustic, different, comfortable.
Front of house
it was 7500 contract for deed with 500 down 300 a month 8% interest. had an acre and that's all i knew about it except that it had a clear unencumbered deed, it was in the country with neighbors to the south, no one to the east, a 5.5 acre vegetable farm to the north and a neighbor half mile to the west.
it was a fixxer upper.
why did i get this? i saw that within a couple years i would own a free and clear piece of property and have a place to build my first log home.
it had fallen in and out of tax deliquency for years, and the residents werent able to keep it.
am i too old for this? dont think so! the outside was so bad i didnt even want to look on the inside before i bought it, so i didnt!
that's when i realized what lie ahead... but you know... dreams arent dreams if they can be broken, so i decided to look for a camper and move from my $900 a month leased house, live in the camper to fix up this mice overrun wreck, live in that, and build a log home on the other 1/2 acre.
This is the view to the east. Can it get much better than that? Later i found out it really could! you can read a newspaper (practically) by the light of the Milky Way! having lived in colorado i was astounded that illinois had such great night skies.
rush hour out here consists of 5 or 6 cars on the little road in front of the house. to the south of me is about 15 houses each with a couple acres or more and no other cities for 4 miles to the east, 6 miles to the south and west, 6 miles to the north. none of those are larger than a couple thousand residents at most.
