As excited as finding an Easter Egg

When I was a kid I often drove my mother to or home from work, if the roads were particularity snowy / icy.
It was usually on days when she could make it into work, but then it snowed so bad she didn't want to risk driving home.
I had the truck with 4wd and drove a lot in mud and snow, so I made sure she got home safely.
It was a dark and snowy night, the roads and parking lots were empty on our way home, but her mail had to go out (aka, get postmarked with the next day's date -- it's an old fashioned thing, pre-autopay). Not a car for miles around, and I still remember how upset she got when I drove up to the post office through the parking lot exit.
So a few years ago I found one of those 'Easter Eggs' of understanding, and I started to occasionally send my mother pictures like the one below.
I explained that in theory, a semi truck without a trailer had no rear fenders. Which is fine in fair weather, here in Washington, but possibly problematic in the rain (the 'fair weather law,' as it's colloquially known).
You take that trailer off, and that tractor has no rear fenders, and that's a bit more water being splashed about which could be a violation. The potential of a tire blowout, that's likely the real risk -- heavy rubber shrapnel, with the worse timing it would be right next to a motorcyclist.
To clarify... it's very likely a-ok for a semi truck without a trailer to have no fenders if proper mud flaps are present, but also it's clearly up to interpenetration too. Generally it is interpreted in favor of commerce working as hard as the people in the factories and the trucks.
I still occasionally send her such pictures, it's been a fun joke. Of course, it's never ok to drive into a parking lot via the exit, except afaik it actually is ok. I'm no lawyer, this is not legal advice and I suggest be safe and don't make a habit of the practice (being reckless IS an issue). Random link that discusses the issue https://www.thewisedrive.com/traffic...vate-property/ (Article title: Traffic Enforcement on Private Property)
I drove by what seemed like a 5 car pile up on I5 today up, nothing too bad from the looks of it, which makes it a really great inconvenience -- just air bags and bumpers, everything else are the physical things that tend to self heal over time. May you all cherish your family this Easter day.
