Trick pool

by Ellsworth on 02-05-2025 at 09:17 AM

I had noted that the fellow was also selling some very nice pool cues. I assume they were nice, iirc the price was around $500 each.
So I figured the seller might know a bit more than average about the game.

I learned pool and geometry at the same time in high school.
I never got very good at either, but enjoyed both.

The table a school was old, and

Helicopter Doctor

by Ellsworth on 02-01-2025 at 09:05 AM
I have a distant relative who served at Fort Lewis as a helicopter mechanic.
We shared a holiday, and some family get-togethers at that time.

A soldier stationed away from home meets a sullen teenager (could be an apt description).
As an adult looking back, it was a pleasure to have met the man, and have the experience.

There's simply not much precedent for such a President.

It's a rare bird, and rare 'wind conditions,' that cause it to happen.
Sticking to a bird theme, there are two terms that might fit well for such an event...

Double-up RPSLs

by Ellsworth on 01-24-2025 at 04:37 PM
Can you imagine a butt and pass log home with double RPSLs at each gable end?

One RPSL on the inside of the wall, and another RPSL on the outside of the wall.

You wouldn't see the inside RPSL, when standing outside the log home.
You wouldn't see the outside RPSL, when standing inside the log home.

It would be twice the work, and twice the architectural features.
