At a learned guess, after much research and thought, I have come to form an opinion.

Despite the official line, the name "FOO Fighters" most likely originated from a journal of some most difficult processing.

"Family Of Origin Fighters"

I do not intend that to be an alienating thought, but rather one of common sense in the totality of the context.

Thus the lead singer's current predicament, may be considered to have been more predictable than the weather.

And there's no personal bias in this read/interpretation.
I wish the family, the man and the band well.

In this modern era, psychology has become the new religion.
The old sin labels re-expressed in clinical terms.
The confessional booth replaced by the therapist's hour.

All judgment aside except the one that matters: society needs something to grow functionally, or it grows dysfunctionally.
May the powers that be always choose the right manure for healthy social growth.

It occurs to me that perhaps like Jimmy Carter, Dave Grohl had a moment when he lusted in his heart.
Which to Carter's credit, is far different than lusting with the loins.
For to trust with the heart implies real love, wheres to thrust with the loins does not.

For both men the cause could have been the hearing of Cupids music, real love at first sight, limerence (tied to past trauma or not), or perhaps kindred spirit recognition as implied by Evolutionary Psychology.
And then from that point Grohl took a different path than President Carter.

The path Dave took was more like that of a 1950's era ad man,
Rather than the traditional Church monogamous man.
Or the modern, big city approach of an ethical non-monogamist or poly dynamic man.

And now he has something that is way more difficult to deal with than what is faced by the modern blended family man.
He's facing conversations that are more emotionally fraught than those faced with either a simple divorce or open and honest pre-discussions.

I wish the families, the man and the band well.
