Just wondering what I need to do to support logs and do they need to dry and if so do I need to treat the ends of logs

we started the 2011 building season in May with 9 courses on the garage and cabin walk out basement walls done.

here's what we did this summer on the garage
-stacked courses 10,11 and cap logs
-finished RPSL pads
-placed RPSL's
-placed ridgepole
-placed rafters and finished roof
-placed in-floorheating to prepare for cement floor
-5" cement floor poured

and what we got done on the cabin
-finished ...

So we stumbled on the LHBA website in Jan. 2011, fell in love, formulated a dream, and on Labor Day weekend 2011 we became official members of the LHBA!

We know this is what we want to do; both my husband and I have always said we would love to have a log home "someday". But to even get this dream off the ground we will need land. Land....seems simple enough, right? No. Actually there is a lot to think about. Every county has its own building permits, requirements, ...
