    We have been working on site prep prior to starting the log work. Today we got the call that the well is finished. Along with the Septic that was installed in August, we can now call Duke power to bring in temporary electric to the site so that we can setup our RV as temp housing while we build.   3. Class of Las Vegas 2015

    Since we did not have a lot of time for personal introductions through out the class, does anyone want to stay in touch and post about their success stories as well as develop a friends list.

  4. Practice log shed finally complete!

    I've loved the whole process of making a practice log shed. If I can do it, anyone can! I'm a web developer from Maine with no prior building experience. Just need to take your time and always follow LHBA's guidelines - they're solid and reliable and tested principles.

  5. change in plans

    we have the logs cleaned/borated/stained. got chinking insulation done and 6 of the 8 (4 interior/4 exterior) walls nailed.
    but rather than quickly finishing prep and moving on to chinking, we've decided to close up the gable ends (while we still have the rented tele) and chink when we have some spare time (like when its been raining and is too muddy to use the tele).
