Hello Fellow Classmates,
My name is Scott - ya my handle on here is ny_log_home_dreamer, because well I am dreaming and hoping to make my dream a reality. I thought I would ask the question: Where are some of you staying? I will be staying at the Harrah's Hotel.
I was also wondering what you may be thinking about for food. For the amount of time and energy we will be pouring in to this class I am going to try to eat very, very clean, to keep my energy level up and hopefully to keep my gray-matter functioning as optimally as possible. Oh ya and I heard something about writers cramp... ;)
I try to eat 100% organic, non-sugar laden, non-High Fructose Corn Syrup, as close as to the way it came from nature as possible. If there is anyone else who will be coming to the class that feels the same way about staying energized and looking for an option of many, I have some info I would like to share.
There is a Whole Foods Market near the airport, that I will be venturing out to, to pick up some food and snacks. From Harrah's there is a short 15 minute walk to the SDX bus line <<Las Vegas @ Bellagio Casino (S)>> that runs right to the Whole Foods Market (Town Square) area Las Vegas @ Town Square (S)>>. The fare is $7 per day for the SDX line. I checked on cabs to make the same trip, about $25 with gratuity. The SDX line starts at 8:50 AM and runs until 12:30 AM. I will be arriving at LAS at 6:14 PM. I will be taking an airport shuttle to the hotel $7 one way, $13 round trip. The shuttles leaves the airport for the strip every 15 minutes. I am looking to go to Whole Foods Market after I arrive and get checked in to the hotel. If any of you would like to join me for a trip to Whole Foods tomorrow night (Friday 5/25), please respond to this thread and we'll try to work something out. If you are staying at the Harrah's you can also rent, as with most things in Vegas, for a fee of $30/day an in-room fridge.
I don't know about most of you, but I am definitely not a world traveler and traveling in general can raise my anxiety level. Having another set of eyes and ears with me when commuting in a strange place sure helps.
I look forward to meeting all of my classmates in just a couple of days. I don't know about all of you, but the time between when I signed up and now has certainly gone by quite fast!! Almost too fast!! :)
Again, please contact me you would like to join me for a bus ride Friday night... ;) We can work out more details in a private message after that.
Scott
