Hi

I will come over next year to attend a class with the aim of then building a log home. My question is can a log home be built for $100,000.

Thanks

depends.
depends on how big, how grand, how much of the work you'll do your self vs hire out, depends on how well you stick to the teachings of the class. every time we deviated from class teachings, it cost us money.

still, when we're through building our log garage and our log cabin we'll have spent far less than 100,000.

welcome to the forums:)

Better be possible, because I plan on spending well under that. :)

You'll probably build a $250,000 log home for under $100,000. Just talking home here. Land is another variable.

With less hurry and more scrounging/haggling you might build the same $250,000 for $50,000 or less.

Personally it spoils it for me to think about money that the place would be worth if we sold it. I'm perfectly happy knowing that we can easily afford to build our dream home without being independently wealthy. The cost has not changed our standard of living much and it'll be a good home to raise Grandkids in and die in no matter how much it's worth.

Once you've been to class you'll agree with us.

It can be done for sure. I am estimating that I will be in mine well under that. Mine is 900 sq. feet on the main and about 650 in the loft.

And, I have been subbing some of the floor installation and framing out. However, that will soon end. I work for cheap lol....
