I have a picture of a lot which (could not post here) which has a garage already on it from previous owner. Not a garage made of logs, a regular 2 car/2 story garage. a little over 3 acres
If you put a log home on this lot would you need to take it down, build around it or take it down and rebuild a log garage if you want a garage ?

what will happen to prop value if you keep it and build a log home next to it ?
anything ?

Sounds like a good situation as long as the garage is not sitting right where you would want to build your home. You have a place to live on-site as well as a place to store materials, tools, etc. while you build. As far as what to do with it after you built your home, that would be up to your personal opinion. If you wanted to keep it, you could always cover it with log siding so it would at least fit in with the look of the house...just a thought.

I would just leave it and put my house next to it. Could you live in it upstairs while you build and have all that storage space bellow? You could re-side the garage with board and battan to match the log house somewhat and I would think it would only add to the value of your home to have a garage. If you take the class it will help you in the decision.

Leave it,
Live in it,
Love it,
but don't level it. :)

Sorry I was on a roll, but there are SO many uses for it which have been named.
I would definately go for it.

Mediaman...I looked at the pic. Definitly keep it. Its a barn style and a good size building. When you are done with your house, put some log siding on it and it will look great next to your new home!

I would love to have that on my property.
