I haven't seen this mentioned in any threads, maybe I've missed it, but as your logs are going up are you covering them? I know that some take days/weeks/months to get them stacked before a roof goes on. Maybe I'm treading into the "members" forum. If so tell me I'll learn it in the class (3 MORE MONTHS! ARRRRRGH!!). Just curious.

You will absolutely have fun in class and yes....they cover this in class. LOL I took the class in Feb. and i signed up in december of last year. The time goes by fast. The preparation is get extra sleep before class and take a bucket. There is so much information they give you that your brain "spills out". enjoy the moment and remember the adventure. It is a fun ride.

Think about it... Have you seen any pictures of covered logs as they were stacked? I don't think so... I can stack a log every half hour... I don't need tarps... Besides, logs will not dissolve when they get wet. Logs are fairly tough. They start to rot only after prolonged dampness (needing both water and air).

That's why I asked. Haven't seen mention of it AND haven't seen any pics of them covered. But they're covered while they're drying before they go up..
