trusses

Have any of you built using a trusse roof system? THey are inexpensive and can be good looking. IF you leave them open and dont need the sf in the attic they seem to be a good alternative.

I don't know exactly what you mean, but I have seen at least one member's house that was built with trusses. The class will never tell you "do this" or "don't do that" but instead, will give you positive and negatives. They will be much more up on cost of trusses vs beam/sleeper construction, and will answer any questions you may have...So you can make an informed decision.l

Trusses i think would be more costly compared to 4 x 10 or 4 x 12 depending on snow load Span etc. Trusses you tend to lose your upper loft sq. footage as well. Yes some builders on here have used trusses
