I recently purchased some land in Newfoundland right on the ocean. i would like to build asmall log home - probably no more than 1500 sq ft. Where do I start? Don't know if I just turn a plan over to a builder or buy some type of kit for a builder to build. Seems like alot to learn to aviod big mistakes.

well I guess where you start depends on where you want to end up. if you want to know how to build a log home you should take the class. whether you intend to do it yourself or just know what pitfalls to watch out for when having someone build it for you, the class will be very informative.
I suppose the first step should be researching kit homes on the internet. google log home kit reviews or complaints. check out kit homes with the Better Business Bureau.... do all you can to find out all about them before you commit.
yeah its a lot to learn to avoid big mistakes. the information imparted in the LHBA class will go a long way in how to avoid most all of them. good luck!
and welcome!
