Why Stop With A House

Everyone on this site has a do-it-yourself mentality. So why stop at building a house. Here are some companies you might find interesting. These are all built from kit, but you can still save huge amounts of money, gain new skills and experience, and have a finished product you can be proud of. Just wanted to share some ideas, I've gotten so much from this site just wanted to give some thing back. Also I'll probably try to attend the class later next year.

I know this might seem crazy, but building your own house seems crazy to most people. They say you can build this for around $70k, which I know is a lot but not for a plane. www.velocityaircraft.com

Those car kits are pretty sweet! For $20K they do all the hard work for you, just have to assemble & toss in the drivetrian....

I could see that being a very enjoyable thing to try!....right after I finish a porch....a shed...a garage.... :)

Actually, I have built my own plane before knowing about LHBA and going on my present mission of log home building. Though, I can't afford kits like that from Factory Five and Velocity Aircraft. (BTW, you chose two of my favorites for examples, the Cobra and Velocity)
That does bring up similarities though. As a DIY log home builder, I didn't buy a kit because (for one reason) they are quite expensive.

I've been in the autobody and restoration business for 35 years built lots of cars mostly Corvette's but I've also done my share of Cobra kit cars,most people have more like about 50,000 in them buy the time their done
