before I started my home I considered piece en piece but could find so little info that I wound up being afraid to get into it. It would be much cheaper in most parts of the country to use short logs in this fashion, and there is no problem with shrinkage in the overall structure. It also opens up the possibility for a lot of windows, doors, and unusual wall shapes if you like.

That is a really nice looking house. I accually have it as my wallpaper on my desktop. :D
