I have a client who purchased a 1/2 built ABS log home and was notified when he applied for his C of O that he needed to show Energy Code compliance.
I understand log homes have their own values versus regular insulation and that it may be very individual.
I am unable to find the manufacturer and so far the engineer has not returned my calls.
Print has American Building System Drg. No. OP.
Order No. 21410.
Is anyone familiar with the company or home?
As construction was started some time ago the building department will accept compliance with the 2000 energy code.
I think building inspector would accept anything close to this home. He is just looking for a doc to shove in the file.
Thanks,
Joe

Don't know ABS Loghomes. (kit manufactures come and go all the time, change their names to hide past indiscretions, etc) But I probably can help.

You can easily draft your own Energy Code Compliance forms using a free downloadable program at http://www.energycodes.gov/rescheck/ Just plug in your values and print out the form.

Thanks to both of you. I am bidding another log home and have had to try to educate in a hurry on heat loads for log homes. did find a loose guideline on energy savers.com. I will pass along what I discover in case it comes up for others.
