I'm looking for a piece of land. My wife just got a job in ashland kentucky which is right on the ohio river basically. So in less than a mile you can be in Ohio, and in like 4 miles you can be in WV.

I've gone through countless sites, newspapers, etc without much luck. I'd obviously like to stay within 20 min or so of ashland. So basically I could go as far north as the National Park in OH. About 15 miles into WV, or about 20 Miles south of Ashland, KY.

I've seen a lot of land (100+ acres) in parts of KY, but they were mostly 70 miles or more south of Ashland.

I'm really looking for wooded land, and the more acres the better. I've even looked into one plot that was 250 acres, but it was over 90 miles away.

I think the minimum I could settle for would be like 20 acres. It can be bare, or have a house on it. Doesn't matter to me really. I just want it to be wooded.

anyone have any leads on land in this area... or resources to help me? Here is a map idea of that area I'm talking about.

You need to decide on a city then find a relator like i did. I moving back to va and did serching online for a relator and found one that showed me several land online.
But i going back to find one to build on for profit.
20 acers get ready to pay a large amount `land went up in west va to i own there. Some guy came from vegas and bought allot land up to build on. Get in the car start looking at all citys around there and then find a relator best bet.
Sorry nothing will junp in your lap . Got go out there and find them driving is the best way.
Ok seya

well picking a "city" really doesn't work for my situation.

There really isn't anything around there much to speak of. It's mostly wooded land, and not much else. A few small small... small towns. So I really could care less what state the land is in.

And land in that area isn't expensive at all. I found 250 acres of dense wooded land for about 170k. You can do the math.

What type of trees are on the 250 acres?? I am in northern ohio and am trying to find a nice lage piece of land south of here to supply my log homes. I relly haven't looked into KY yet but have covered much of WV. have you tried to contact county tyme. they are "land specialists" in OH, KY, and I think WV. check out the web page www.countrytyme.com

thx for the link. I'll contact them about their stuff here today.

http://www.manningrealty.net/page37.htm here is the link to the listing of the 250 acres, w/cottage/house, whatever you want to call it.

http://www.manningrealty.net/hundreds.htm - listings for things in the 100K + range. Obviously larger plots of land, and nicer homes. Actually a cabin on there for sale as well. Some of these are more central KY though. Hope that helps you out.
