Living Roof

WOuld it be possible to have a roof with grass or other plants on it with a log home. im sure you could use enough log beams to support such a structure but what kind of pitch do u need for this type of log structure has any one done it before

of course you can have a green roof. I saw a green roof on top of the academy of sciences in san francisco that had a whole range of slopes. The top looked like a hobbit hole.

I don't know how to do it, since this is not my priority, however, I did visit a member's home, Mike Vowels, and he had one (not over the whole roof, but a portion. What you're talking about is often called a green roof, or a living roof. It's possible on nearly any home. It does increase the roof weight and you must consult with an engineer about your spans, but completely possible.
