How to seal / insulate log to interior siding junction?

Please offer advice on how to seal / insulate / close the gap between this log wall and the boxcar siding. I can't think what would create a reasonably finished look. Pictures are here:

Low expansion foam to seal, and one clever finishing/trim method suggested is some larger hemp/manila rope tacked into the corner. Otherwise, you could scribe wood trim to match the logs, but that's a much larger effort.

I work at a Lincoln historic site and the old way was to mix hair (animal preferably) and mud and clay or straw.
