First of all I want to thank anyone who responds to this question. Does anyone have a general idea the amount of Rebar I would need for a 40 x 40 configuration. Let's say this would include a basement and a loft.

Also, can anyone tell me the amount of logs I would need too? I know these are probably stupid questions but I'm new with all of this...

Thanks so much

Both would be determined by how thick your logs are. The class goes into details on this.

Each piece is roughly 1.5' long. Spaced every 2'. 40/2 = 20 per log. 4 walls = 80 per course of logs. 1.5 x 80 = 120' of rebar per course. The diameter of your logs determine how many courses are required to get a certain wall height. But averaging 12" logs and 8' per floor, two floors = 16 courses. 16 x 120 per course = 1,920' of rebar. If you are looking to get a good deal buying bulk, I'd round this up considerably, just so I wouldn't run out. But that's just me. As others said, take the course, and get farther along in your planning process before buying 2,000' of rebar and having nothing to do with it, lol.

Don't get ahead of yourself buying stuff before taking the class as Hemlock suggested.

There are a lot of variables to determine the amount needed.
