Anyone know where I can get a job learning from and assisting a log home builder or other worker?

I'm a student right now and I have for a long time been interested in self-sufficiency. I'm looking to leave school and start working with a person that is building log homes and is willing to help me become more knowledgable about what I want to promote. I feel deeply invested in self-sufficiency and nature - if anyone feels that we could be beneficial to eachother I would be interested in carrying that out further. I've been working with general contractors for a while and I'm ready to take it up a notch. I'm possibly willing to move anywhere in the country on short notice and work and learn around building, farming, off-grid living, or anything else that may be related.
