Hiya all,

I told a few members that I would post about class, so here it is !!

I woke friday morning about 4:30am, plane took off at 1:00pm, cause I was sooo excited !!! got to the airport fine. headed to Chigago, trip there went well. Things get bad from here on out LOL. Flight to so. cal. was delayed, delayed, and delayed. Now, I am a smoker, so needless to say there wehre many trips thro secruity. Won't get into that. Finaly we board, get going , and it is gona be close as to if I can make my connection. I can't sleep on moving vehicles, so it is a long 4 hour ride. Touch down!!! yipppeeee I am in sotheren california. Missed my conection by 15 Mins, bummer!!!! So I go rushig to the ticket counter , CLOSED!!! . ooooh shoot , what to do now? ah call the folks that I bought trip from. AHH , trying to straighten out reading glasses from the mangling they got from baggage handler, and they snap in 2. Yuck !!!! Can;t read number, but I try. I get a recording that says, for a good time talking call this number. While I am temped, cause I could usse a good time about now, it won't achive my goal. So I do the only thing left. I call the wife and wake her up. Yall can guess how well this went over!! but she helps anyway. Calls the people , they can't do anything for me , sorry!! GREAT stranded in southeren california!

OHHH wait is that a ticket agent from the orgiinal airline, sure IS. I go up there and start asking is there anyway I can get to seatle before class starts: answer, NO!!!! Next flight out is 7am. Now I am bummed. cause no matter what happens now, I will be late. During the conversation it is stated that because it was a weather related delay , no one has to help me!! GREAT! However , this ticket agent from American Airlines does a great thing. She helps. Gets me a hotle and dinner FREE . Good custmer relations. If I had been one of a bunch of people this never would have happened, but because I am the only one it does.

I get about 45 mins sleep and it is time to get going agian . I get to seatle without any problems. Cool only gona be a little late. Until I hit the car rental line from hell. Wait, wait wait wait. I am next in line, yippeee! The ticket agen finishes with a customer and leaves!!!! more waiting. finaly , getting a car, take off . Find Monroe no problem , heading down cr 2 . Almost there , oops I wind up in Duvall. Ok I missed the driveway, no problem head back and find it . I am almost into Monroe again . WHAT!! read the directions. Some times the old brain has a fart. West is on the RIGHT not the left . oh yeah !!! So I head back down . Found the parking area , YEHA !!! finally.

There is noone around but lots of cars. cool !!! that many people got to leave a trace. So I search the parking lot. Now I have to tell you that it is wet out. I have non water proof sneakers on . by the time I finish searching parking lot my feet a soaked. I still didn't find any thing that would tell me where they went . Only one solution, they left the the parking lot thro the gate. OUt the gate , do I turn right or left ? This is a critical junction so I will tell you to turn right , that is the only clue I will give ya. Of course I turn left. I see some small log cabins head down the path. Splash, I am in ankle deep water. Fantastic!!!! GREAT:( I dont find any sign of them in here either. But there is a dirt road going up a hill , maybe there !! nope another failure. I am done at this point. I am going home and asking for my money back . Mumbling and crumbling I make my way back to the parking lot. I find , as I get closer to the parking lot what I have been looking for . asign of life. A footpriint, they went this way . SWEETTTTTTT . I follow the prints and make it to class.

All that I can say about class is : IT WAS WORTH ALL THE AGREVATION I WENT THRO!!! Take it, it is fantastic!!! I learned a lot. So glad I made it. Thanks Steve and Mr. E for a great weekend.

This was all a sinister plot to discover if you really had the persistance and smarts to be a LHBA member and build a log home! Congratulations on passing the test!

With an attitude and approach like that I see a big beautiful log home in your future.

Wholly mackerel, I was wondering where my little black cloud had gone for the weekend. Like previously said, anyone with that much determination is gonna "git 'er done!"

Hope you didn't go stomping on Skip's floors in them muddy sneaks!!!

Whynotnow--that sounds like the trip from H . . .! I am certain I probably would have cancelled out somewhere along that trip, but you made it through!! Since we are practically neighbors here, I at least want to buy you a coffee (or a beer) and hear all about everything! Welcome back! Once you have recuperated, send me an email: agrugel@twcny.rr.com

Thanks for bringing back the memories of my weekend there last January! Don't feel bad about passing the driveway and ending up in Duvall. I did that too but on the SECOND day of class! But what a sweet story...it made me remember the mud on my boots and the cool mountains!

... I would have gone to SeaTac and driven you to the class.
You missed some information, but made up for that loss in
gaining a truck load of perserverance.

Now, let's see your log home!

Whynotnow,

Glad to here you made it, and welcome. If nothing else, I?m sure that the info, eats and Skips Special Cookie made up for the mishaps.
