Folks if any of you are Ron Paul supporters you have less then an hour left to donate to his campaign and be part of a historical day (you can still donate after that but this day is special). Get over to http://www.ronpaul2008.com/ and donate and join the revolution. If you don't know who Ron Paul is Google his name and find out about the only honest guy in Washington and the only guy worth voting for. (Mods I apologize if this is inappropriate here, however if so go ahead and remove. But I hope you might give a little leeway on this one?) ;) Blayne

Yep! Made my $100 dollar donation, as did my wife. It's the first time for both us for campaign donations.
For those not in the know. November 5th was a donation day set up by Ron Paul fans. The goal was to break the record for the most money earned in a single day, which has been surpassed. Originally it was hoped to have 100,000 people donate $100 each to raise $10 million. Right now it's about $4 million, which beats Romney's record of $3 mlllion, with over 35,000 donators. John Kerry once raised $5.7 million in a day. I hope we can still beat that, but if not I'm still pleased.
Hopefully the MSM will pay attention, the right kind of attention.

Hawkiye is right. I hope this isn't inappropriate to post. So, in order to increase appropriateness, I've decided to try and think of ways Ron Paul can help Log Home Builders and believers in private property rights.
Ron Paul would reduce the size and scope of the governments bureacracy that controls our lives and hampers our ability to take care of ourselves.
Ron Paul would eliminate taxes which makes it easier to earn a living and build your log home.
How's that? :-)

I really, really like a lot of Ron Paul's ideas. Unfortunately I also really dislike his stance on many things...... so I can't vote for him unless those things change. Oh well, that's the way it goes!
Here is an excellent website that shows all of the candidates stances on all the major issues. This will be a great tool in helping me decide who to vote for.

I have and pretty much came to the conclusion he's either a nut case, or a con man. I'm fairly certain he had been hoping for the "Coast to Coast" lobby, until Kucinich beat him to the punch.
Not to mention all the spam originating in Nigeria. Classy.

Not trying to start an argument here everyone is entitled to their opinion but I am honest to goodness just curious as to how one comes to this conclusion? I have heard similar statements by people negative about Dr. Paul but so far I have never seen anything substantive to back it up.
From my research the man has an impeccable record of honesty and integrity not to mention his congressional voting record. He may be the only honest man in Washington. His voting record is 100% consistant with his talk over many years. I don't think any other politician can say that.
He has never pandered to lobbyist or special interest so comaring him to Kucinich doesn't make sense. He doesn't appear to have any skeletons in his closet. If he does I am sure his opponets will find them and bring them out, however so far nothing.
He is a strict constitutionalist and his nick name in congress is Doctor no. I guess I can sort of see how that might seem a bit nutty now days where the constitution is not revered as it once was. Also he is not bought and paid for by big Corps and special interests.
Here's a brief overview of congressman Paul?s record:
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
Please enlighten me as to why some people think a record and reputation that is perhaps the cleanest in the history of the country make him a nut case or con man? I am seriously curious. ;) Or at least point me to some information you feel supports that view? Thanks.

Talking politics and religion are two topics that almost always end in arguments and create disharmony.
That is most likely why LHBA curbs these types of discussions.
I like Ron Paul. I dislike all the others. But I do not disrespect any individual who chooses them. Calling other candidates bums, quacks and losers is not a rational and meaniful discussion about politics. Even though I dislike ALL the viewpoints and plans? of ALL the other candidates I never resort to namecalling or trashtalking. I will say no more on the topic.

We currently have one of the absolute best forums on the Internet imho.??Our members are?an awesome?group of genuinely caring, helpful, and friendly folks.
Whenever I see political stuff start up on other forums it tends to degrade the conversation into a messy argument.? People argue until they are red in the face, or blue in the face, depending on their party affiliation.
And if we allow Ron Paul threads, then we'd probably feel obligated to allow Hillary Clinton threads: and I don't think I could handle that ?;)
We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
