Yeah, I like Eric Clapton too.
Met him in an Irish Pub in Asheville NC a couple of years back. Fun guy with a great sense of humor. Also, not too bad on the guitar.
Then a month later bumped into him at a Buddy Guy concert in Asheville. "where's Eric?????"

He likes riding horses, and cowboy shirts, among other interests........

Does anyone out there have info, direct or indirect knowledge, on building round floor plan log homes, similar to yurts in shape?
Please sound off if you do.

I don't know about round but it would seem like you could build an octagon shaped home similar to a Navajo Hogan using the LHBA method. like the student home that has the hexagon stairwell only much bigger.

Otherwise I would think that only vertical log construction would lend itself to round, but it still seems like that would be difficult given the need to keep the radius constant to have a true circle. You would need to calculate exactly where to spline each log individually as no two logs are alike, windows could be difficult too if the radius was not very large. Intersting idea though, you should pioneer the concept then patent it.
