I pass through that area sometimes. Kinda familiar with it.
Since I can't PM you with the new forum, you could email
me (if the forum rules permit) at" rbuchanan_2@charter.net

If I'm around when you're there I can save you some time.
You also might consider northern Idaho north of the Pend
Orielle (say "ponderay") Good prices and no wacky west-
side Washington ideas. Just freedom.

One thing I just learned about Stevens County around Coleville Washington is for an owner/builder you don't need a building permit. You can sign a waiver but it may cause problems when it comes to selling. You just need a safety inspection, electrical inspection and septic. It may not be that way much longer.

Wow! In King County, and now Snohomish County starting in October, our fine government provides employment for every kid who majored in Biology by forcing everyone to pay lots of money to have Sensitive Area studies done, etc. As someone with an even more useless degree -- History -- I think it would be in the public good if the government mandated every property have a "Historical, Cultural, and Archaelogical Survey" done! History majors like me could stop being computer programmers, and make our money checking to ensure people aren't building on Native burial grounds. I saw Poltergeist! We all KNOW what happens when you build in places like that! Or you can apply for a variance, but then you'd have to pay extra Poltergeist Insurance on the property.

I used to live in Sandpoint about 25 years ago. :-) I liked it back then. Haven't been back in a looong time.
