Hello Everyone:
This is a great website that has made my wife and I feel that our dream of building a log home is both affordable and doable for two non-builders like us! We hope to attend a class asap after the first of the year, but have one concern. I am a preacher, so I of course "work" every Sunday. It seems like the classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Is it possible to hold classes on any other day but Sunday? We have made a commitment never to put any other activities ahead of our worship. However, it appears that the classes are too jam-packed with useful information to miss the hours it would require to attend worship in the Seattle area.
Would anyone else be interested or willing to consider a Friday-Saturday class? I guess the decision is up to the teacher to see if there would be interest in an alternative schedule. If classes are already scheduled for non-Sundays, please disregard this message. Thanks in advance your your consideration.

Good news Travis! Occasionally, there are mid-week classes. Keep an eye out for them. :-)

Hi Travis and April, welcome to the forums!
We do occasionally have weekday classes for folks who can't attend on weekends. Usually they are held on a Weds/Thurs. We don't have them very often, but historically I'd guess there's between one and three per year.
Normally we have an option to sign up for an e-mail list which alerts you when a new class is scheduled, but we just moved to a new website and we don't have that feature set up yet. For now you might want to just send an e-mail to info@loghomebuilders.org and ask to be notified when a non-weekend class is scheduled. We try to keep track of who's interested and sometimes we use that information to decide when to schedule one if the list gets long.
In the mean time please enjoy the new website, articles and forums. :)

Where are you guys from? You know God honors commitments and will make a way for you to fulfill your dreams. There are many wonderful people on this site who want to help, too!
God bless,

This is April. Travis is now at camp for the week. We are originally from the beautiful state of Oregon. We now live in Missouri. We moved here via Ohio a few months ago and I love it already! God has blessed our family with a wonderful congregation and an area full of natural beauty. I am looking forward to combing through the information on the site and getting to know people better. Have you built a log home already?

You've probably already gone through the various student homes, just thought I would point this one out.
