A friend called me Monday and said get on Craigslist.com and search for free barn. I did, saw the photos and the location and raced over there in my car and was the first one there. It's mine.

It's nothing fancy but is hand built, don't know the age but it's been there for a while for sure. Approximately 33x16 and a loft.

I'm going to photo and tag it, dissasemble it and then reassemble it on a concrete slab on my property near my log house and garage. It's going to look great out in the trees about 75 feet from the house.

Anyway, I want to look into hiring someone with a crew to dissasemble it and move the parts to my property. I wish I could have it trailered as is but that's not going to work.

So does anyone know of a crew that would take a project like this in the North Carolina area? I'll be checking with house movers but I thought I'd ask here in case there were some options I haven't thought about.

This may not be of help but I live in West Tn and an old log(square cut and dovetailed poplar) school house/ church that was built in the Mid to late 1850's was recently remodled. It was took apart and reassemblied on same location. They replaced the rotten logs with new poplar, also they may have used some oak as some of the donated logs are still on site. It is located in Scotts Hill Tn on a road by the name of Doe Creek Road. If I can find out more info I will post here. They just completed chinking. It was restored by some locals for historical purposes. The story I was told is that the school kids could here the battle in Shiloh going on! Very interesting stuff!
