Took my boys to the Pioneer village yesterday to see some examples or early log buildings. It is a free city park with about 15 or so buildings and exhibits, here are a few highlights I thought I'd share.

Wow that brings back memories! I lived in Murfreesboro for 14 years before coming to Oregon. The Pioneer village sure has grown. Thanks for sharing the pics.

I like ol stuff..

I wonder if the home had any renovation work or if it is still "virgin".

either way, it is saaah-weeeet.

check out the one picture where there is a concrete 3 step stair. I wonder if it was built for mounting horses and/or an step to get up in a wagon or horse drawn carriage.

giddy' up,

I wonder what type of foundation it is sitting on. Kola

Sparky, I live in Nashville but get to the Boro occaisonally It has grown considerably in the last ten years or so, I went out to Portland last year to skate a bunch of skateparks but mostly Burnside, Donald and Lincoln city...I'd love to spend more time in Oregon outside the cities, what I saw of the countryside was awesome.

The cabins are restored, I like old stuff too, They had a pretty good antique tractor collection including some steam, plus a small museum containing farm implements and things like that. I can't wait to go back when they have Harvest days so I can see the Blacksmith in action!

for the foundations most were on piers like this
