I have done some reading about different chinking methods. I would like to get opinion from people that have actually done this.

My question is: What is the simplest, cheapest, time saving method? I am not looking for a trashy way of doing it. My time and funds are short and I really need to get this done soon.

I have considered using small gage expanded aluminum to hold the mortor. My uncle has had great results doing this. What about the nail method? This sounds like alot of work, but cheaper the expanded aluminum.

Welcome heep70,

You will have access to information on chinking in the LHBA "members only" forum.
To get into the member sections click on the link and follow the directions.
See ya there! :D

I think Kola was referrencing you to take the class. Not sure what the situation is, building new or touching up an older home. But the class covers an inexpensive way (although maybe not the easiest) to chink. If you do a google search for log home chinking you may find some additional information.

heep, I believe I read in another post you stated you took the class. If you followed the directions/application for "new members" within a day or two you will be granted access into the members only forum.

hope that helps,
Kola

Heep, my bust! I went back through your posts and saw you did mention taking the class sometime from Skip. If you sent Steve or Ellsworth the info then they will reply once they confirm you took the class with the information to access the members section as the link that Kola posted states.

Give it a day or two and you should have a reply.
