View Full Version : Driving the rebar question
I have not taken the class, but understand that the method for driving the rebar is to drill through the top log only and then after driving the rebar through the top log, continue pounding it about 6" or so into the non-drilled bottom log. (Sorry if this question has been answered before), but why not drill the bottom log as well ? It just seems that it would make the rebar driving go a lot easier. If the answer is that the rebar wouldn't fit tight enough in the bottom log, could not a slightly smaller drill be used ?
Just wondering ?

Arky,
These are things that are covered in the class. Building details are things that are discussed at length in the members section. Not sure where you got your information but critiquing certain building techniques are best to wait till after you take the class because a lot of your questions will be satisfied.
This is information that a lot of people have taken the time and money to learn the right way and to have someone other than the class instructors teach it to you might not be in your best interest.
