The class advice back in the 1960s, 1970's included "build a bus first."
Meaning, convert it to an RV just like they do nowadays.

We kept a sample to tour on site.
Of course it was a City bus and not a School bus, totally different experience.

It's the fastest, cheapest "go/no go" sort method before committing to a real home build.
Because it takes similar work, planning, dedication, cooperation, et cetera.
It's the small scale acid test (to use old hippy vernacular ), before making the full plunge.

The goal is to finish the bus as you're buying the property and quickly transition to full time job-site living.
It minimizes the costs on your log home build while maximizing productivity.

It is not allowed in every jurisdiction (on site, year round RV living).
And if there's an HOA, then be aware many busses exceed the typical allowable RV length (if there is an RV clause).

Anyone with construction experience is already a jump ahead, so is a couple that has already survived tough tests.
Many members have successfully lived in a used RV / camper trailer during their builds.
