Why in the political section?
Take a guess!
Why not in the public area?
Take a guess!
But seriously. I like the concept of rail carts / bikes.

Close up of his modifications.
Paraphrase "It's easier to commute across town on the rails compared to the road."
[jokes about a quick get away after the next Presidential election aside (regardless of which side wins) this thread was moved from Politics area to General Hobby, because it's a neat hobby)

That's pretty cool.
I ran into an older guy in Butte one time with a similar, non electric version of that.

Railroad track is 4' 8.5" wide.
I had no idea.
I wonder what minimum flange height is for wheels?
Edited to add:
"Flange height. Wheels and tires
may not have a flange height of less
than 1 inch nor more than 1.5 inches"

That seems cheap and easy to make.
I like his wheel choice for the quieter factor.
The wheels off a 55 gallon barrel hand truck might work great (approx 10" diam, solid rubber over steel).

Find the right deal and it's $100 for 4 wheels and most of the steel you need.
A rail cart like that would take access to some abandoned lines known to be unobstructed, it'd be heavy.

Seat(s) that swivel 180 degrees and controls that work when the seat is facing either direction!
No need to rotate the cart.
