Hello, I purchased my first log home last year and am looking into cutting a 4 1/4” hole in the log wall to vent a dryer that currently vents into the crawl space. The logs are fairly small- around 7-8” diameter. My question is: will a hole of that size impact the home’s structural integrity? I suspect not because there are already other, larger holes to vent my pellet stove. Thank you

I am primarily a World Class Expert on the subject of my own log house, so don't quote me too hard this.
I can't think of a reason not to drill through your 8" log wall for a dryer vent. I did it on my place.
Use a 4" hole saw and plan on stopping every inch or so to chisel out the debris.

Thank you. I've got my hole saw, chisel, and will give it try.
