I was wondering when the next class was after February. Because it’s the weekend of Valentine’s Day, Vegas jacks up the hotel prices substantially. I’m looking at $1000 for flight, hotel, rental car and food. That’s excessive for a 3 day trip to Vegas unless I was gambling.

Hi bforrest01,

The most common class dates are Presidents Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, and Labor Day weekend. If you want to be notified as soon as we add a new class to the schedule, you can sign up for class alert emails here:

I went to a November class back in 2011. Not sure if it was 3day weekend or not. I stayed off the strip about a block or two at a cheap hotel, and my father in law and I walked a couple miles to our hotel. We figured we were gonna need to get into habit of cutting costs, so we started off on the right--wait for it--FOOT! Bwahahaha. Good luck on your journey, and looking forward to meeting you on the other side....

Sounds like a good use of $1000 to me. I think you could do without the rental car. I took a taxi from the airport, didn't cost much and I didn't have to worry about parking. Then when it was time to go home, I had plenty of time to kill so I walked to the airport... Obviously, I packed light. Class was held at the Flamingo when I went (I also booked my room there). There wasn't anything I cared to see that I couldn't walk to or stumble back from. Probably the most learning, fun and lack of sleep I've ever had in 3 days. If you really want to save money, there's lots of people that sleep on the sidewalks around there.

Edit: You might even wake up with more money that way. I talked to one excited sidewalk sleeper that went to sleep broke and woke up with enough money for a bag of pot.
