In my usual surfing i came across this.
Interesting concept and perhaps could be used for out-buildings/pumphaus or what not.
Worth a look!

Been a while since I been over on that site. Some of the regulars were blasting newbies on a daily basis, and things were getting ugly. After a while I got tired of it and just stopped visiting. (which BTW is one of the amazing things about LHBA. This has got to be the most well behaved, civilized forums on the net)
Anyhow, I went through all the posts by that user, and it wasn't ever mentioned again. I'll ask how things have gone. (no doubt it's been long finished. Those guys get things done)

That's because the members of LHBA have all gone up "The Hill" together. After that, you become brothers & sisters. We all understand that no matter what we do or think about any other subjects, this is the place for postive remarks, advise and outlooks on the building of our wooden castles. How about that for a first thing Saturday morning reply. Chris

...Any luck on the sauna from the other forum?....I am sure Kola has been having trouble sleeping in his TP wondering about a picture of the final construction...
J-
yeah Jordan, I have been thinking of building a fire under a metal horse watertrough for a crude but pleasant bath tub.

I've used a hot tub which was built out of a large circular water trough (galvanized steel) and set atop a stone foundation. Wood billets are used to heat the water. It has worked for several years and one thing that is really interesting about it is that after a day's use (during large outdoor parties) a small red-hot spot forms on the bottom. We just keep our feet away from it. Another funny thing is that from a distance the "bathers" look like they are being boiled alive! It must give drivers on the highway a bit of a start. The water is actually very hot but tollerable with the right attention to the fire below.

Sounds cool Andrew. I also thought of heating rocks and laying them in the water..

Kola, you might be able to build a heating unit like the ones advertized in the back of magazines for "wine barrel" hot tubs. From the pictures it looks like the heating unit sits in a built-in trough within the water holding vessel. I believe they are wood fired.
