Could someone tell me on average, HOW MANY white pine logs, with aprox butt diameter of 22"(just cut), can a logging truck carry per load.

Thanks

Lost1,

From talking to numerous loggers I've found that they are more concerned about weight per load rather than total number of logs per load because of getting fined. Remember a 45ft log is going to weigh a lot more than a 35ft log.

From what I've been hearing for 15"-18" logs I would guess for 22" logs you would be about 20 logs per load without considering weight as a factor.

Don't take my word for it, call a couple loggers and ask. They are the experts.

My truckers brought them in 15-20 at a time. I had 35-55 foot long yellow poplar, 14"-18" at the butt end.

Use a board ft calculator (available online); a truck can haul about 5000 BF of Western Hemlock, according to my guy; confirmed by a couple others.
