After spending a ridiculous amount of time reviewing this forum, I found myself completely able to answer every query my wife had. It went something like this.

“So, how can logs not settle?” she asked.
I replied, “I’m not sure. Sounds like I need to take the class.”
She then asked, “But can we still do the slab foundation with radiant floor heating?”
Patiently I answered, “Maybe, but I need to take the class.”
“Well, where will we get logs from???” she whined.
With slightly less patience I responded, “I don’t know. I need to take the class.”
Then with some angst she asked, “But can we really build it oursel…?”
Gently I cut her off, “Let’s just take the @&!# class.”
Finally she says, “Okay fine, sign me up too. WE'RE taking the class.”

February 2016 seems a long way off…but we’ll both be there☺

You missed one important detail in your synopsis of how this thing works.

We'll tell you all about it when you get to the member's side.

Nice work so far. Look forward to sharing the good stuff with you both.

Yup, you got it, right there, up front, in the beginning. See you on the other side, and welcome.

The green logs fibers arrange them selves so that once the re-bar goes in (about 2 inches) it can't be removed. I have posted pictures where I split an old log along the re-bar hole and took a picture of the fibers. Just remember that a green log shrinks in all 3 dimensions. So as the log ages and shrinks the log grabs the re-bar tighter and tighter.

I have radiant floor heating in my walk out basement...

I thought you should know before Feb...

Don't blow this for him Dave. He's got her convinced to go to class. ;-)
