Quick.... Ask your instructors about the meaning of life.
Don't worry, they can both talk about log home stuff while solving the age old riddle.

LHBA tends to be more intense than simple heart surgery. This stuff is important.
Enjoy day 2.

same it was really a good class...now I have ton of questions in my head :)
I will continue working on my project, also I am sure that with a good analysis of private/member only I will solve remaining question like home ventilation/airflow etc...
So wait and see after I get approval to this part!

The wife and I enjoyed the class as well. Now it begins in earnest. Currently looking for a nice piece of ground near Charlotte for our future log home.

Thomas and I really enjoyed the class, and we loved meeting many of you in Las Vegas.
We've been scheming on cabin sizes and layouts, and just looked up and read all about the building permit application process in our county (Pierce County, WA). Now our minds are blown... first up, getting prices on a land survey (there didn't seem to be a good one on file when we purchased our property, and all the site applications we have show septic and well in strange places, not related to where they really are... so a survey could be exciting!)
Thomas has been geeking out on craigslist all week too, now that we know WHAT to look for there, it's SUCH an amazing resource for free and cheap stuff. First, we need a container to hold said stuff, and there are lots of cargo container options for cheap, too... we already have been benefiting so much from what we learned. Happy campers!

Yeah, our property had the drain field way far from where the permit map said it was. It was right by the well. We got together with the former owner an he drilled us a new well, a legal distance from the septic field.
Funny thing, he had his favorite water witcher come out to witch the new well. I asked the witch if he could locate the drain field for me. He found all three lines, running east and west just like on the permit map from the county. Problem is there is only two lines and they are way over there by the garden.
I never believed in all that voodoo stuff anyway.

I knew a water witch growing up. I didn't believe it either until I held one side of the stick and he held the other. That branch spun down in both our hands as we tried to hold it up. Pretty crazy/freaky.
