Hello, I'm new here and I've noticed, through some internet digging, that there are some very nice pictures on the website that have no links to access them! I think they are mostly Student built houses, but please believe me when I say, less is not more!

I'm familiar with Wordpress and Genesis themes, and I'd be happy to help if I could, but regardless, can someone PLEASE add links to easily access more pictures?

Thank you for your consideration, from a new, but eager future student.

If you dig around here on this end you can find some student blogs. Mine is included here but I haven't updated it since we moved in almost two years ago. :-)

Thanks folks.

I do wish there were more on the site - I see it is a Wordpress/Genesis site. I use this in my business work.

Those who have not posted photos of your work, please don't be shy.

John,

There are sooooooooo many more photos on the member's side of the forum. We are much freer (more free) with ourselves among ourselves. It is a privacy thing and you'll appreciate it once you are on the member's side with us. I'll give you one shot of my Son dropping our smallest house log, and one of me doing something stupid with a normal house log, and one of what it is turning into.

Beautiful pics and thank you. Sadly, I won't be able to access the members part of the forum for awhile, but I'm super grateful for the pictures, as it is making it easier for me to inspire "She-who-must-be-obeyed" - the wife.

Again, please and thank you to photos of homes built by members - thanks all of you!

In the interest of sticking to the plan, I shall generously provide a smattering of what has been involved in the process for our family. These photos are unique to our peculiar build and by no means representative of what you two will go through with your build.

To generously assist others by sharing extensive wisdom and knowledge.

... And finish that darned house so the husband don't get tossed out in the street with nothing but lawyer bills for company. For example, if they was at the same point we are, they might finish mounting the windows so they can get to making exterior doors. Our gable ends are fairly weather tight so if the door holes were covered, and then the chinking insulation was stuffed, interior framing could get nailed together this winter and maybe even interior stain.

I am dumb enough to be milling my own framing studs, as well as interior and interior and exterior siding, so there is lumber to mill also. Mostly, I'd like for me and the Boss to bolt together our 6" thick front door (that has been serving as a workbench) so we can slap some stain on it and get to blacksmithing a set of hinges for it while it is still nice and dry before the winter rain raises the humidity.

I could bolt on the stair treads, but no I can't, because I want to frame in the wall that will be next to the stairs so I'll know if the log that the treads bolt to is in the right spot. So, yes, I think we oughta concentrate on building doors so the place will be fairly weather-tight and heatable for working in comfort this winter.

But three of those doors can't be built yet because they will have a row of glass blocks set beside them that has to be mortared in so the center door buck can be set so we'll know exactly how wide to make those doors. I'd get on those glass blocks today but I will only have a few hours before I go to work at the Muffin Store and I hate getting partway through a project and then stopping, only to have to relearn how to do the whole thing again tomorrow.

Maybe I'll glue myself in front of the computer today, watching Youtube videos of people laying glass blocks so I'll have a good idea what I am doing tomorrow morning. No, I can't do that because Jake and Rebecca will be home from their Honeymoon tomorrow and we'll probably get together to hear all about it.

Come to think of it, I don't know if I fully understand the question, donjuedo. Could it be that I am less organized and driven than some LHBA members? Maybe so, but it is working out fine anyway. I think we oughta concentrate on getting PresterJohn and his better half to Vegas so they can get the invite to my chinking party... No, that won't pan out either. Jake said he wanted he and I to commit to doing all the chinking together. I guess this level of correlated chaos has become a lifestyle for me. I think I'll start up a time management consulting company and concentrate on making my second million dollars.
