Home owners insurance

So, has anyone had problems getting home owners insurance? I just got off the phone with our insurance broker and he said he didn't know of any company that will cover hand hewn log homes. He said the only kind of logs homes that can be covered are "kit" homes".
I can't imagine that to be true if you are getting the whole process permitted. Anyone have experience with this?

There's all kinds of old hand hewn log homes in PA. Guess you'll just have to shop around.
