Wondering what everybody is doing for permits, are you hiring a architect?once you cross over to the other side on LHBA do they offer a service or can you buy blueprints and have them modified for your county requirements?

Yes there are standard plans made available (for a discount) after the class. A great deal for sure. In fact, they are drawn by one of our very special members.

That is great news for any who need them! Since we are designing our own home, could our drawings be turned into plans via that "very special member?"

They were developed by via collaboration between LHBA staff and a licensed architect.

We don't normally sell them at the class, and there's no high pressure 'buy today' stuff.

We just make sure that if you want a plans package sometime after you get home from the class, then you pay whatever the last sale price was.

This place sounds like a class act. I think I'll keep my membership going for a second 30 years.

PS... We used a custom drawn set of plans that were eerily similar to LHBA plans. I really, REALLY, REALLY wish we'd just done the LHBA plans. We woulda been money and time ahead.

Will the architect be able to get the plans approved for every state(county).

You would need to find an architect or structural engineer in your state as far as I know. I wasn't able to get my architect to stamp directly on the plans because he didn't draw them up but he was more than happy to stamp a letter that said he verified the plans. He even offered to have any building inspectors with questions to call him.
