hello everyone, am new here. i want to know how i can prevent termite from eating through my log if am building with a log.

douglas fir is one of the best, I think.
follow building codes, use metal flashing between your foundation and the logs. get the logs as high off the ground as you can (18 inches is good!), treat your logs, cut back the trees and brush around the perimeter of your home.

What do you mean?

1. Against bugs: cedar or cypress

2. Just "strongest": some kind of rainforest wood, maybe "ironwood".

3. Strongest in bending likely to be used in a log home: Doug Fir and Larch both have high strengths.
