Anybody have any stories, good or bad, about building in Missouri? (permits, inspections, etc) Just doing what I'm not supposed to do, looking at land before attending class. This land is about 25 miles away from Lake of the Ozarks, rural.

From way back when I was on the land hunt, I know you can find land cheap there, though, it was often logged off first. Could look at that as good or bad. Yea, the trees are gone and slash piles are everywhere. But, your driveway work and house clearing may already be done for you. And in 10 years, things will look pretty nice again. Ten years goes by quick. (Dear Lord, it's coming up on 10yrs since I took the class!!!!)

Don't be afraid to contact the building dept. At the very least, you are anonymous unless you say who you are and where your land is.

Thanks. This is about 5 acres on a river, partially cleared, partially wooded. Water and electric at property border. Five miles to interstate. 35K. Sounded fairly reasonable for waterfront. More investigation needed on flood plain, etc.
