Never owned a log home, never thought about it. However we came across a super 4200 sq ft home in Waynesville NC and have some questions before taking th e plunge. My wife wants to paint a couple interior walls...anyone have experience with this...are we crazy?

also, we noticed gaps between logs in master bdr...i have pictures but cannot attach here for whatever reason.

My brother owns a similar home in Clayton Ga...but interior of his home is finished entirely in knotty pine rather than the large exposed logs...he advised i come to you guys.

kindly
Jim Alexander

Install framing and drywall on a few of the rooms in the home and paint the drywall. This way your wife gets the contrast she's looking for.

We need photos of those gaps. Post to Photobucket and you can link them here.

If the Boss really does want to paint some of the interior log walls, that may be grounds for involuntary commitment to an asylum for observation, but is not concrete proof that she is crazy. Keep the sharp instruments locked up just in case. Does she show any signs?

Are we talking about a kit home here, with milled D "logs"?

Hi Jim,
I am in the Waynesville area and would be glad to talk to you about log homes. If this is a kit you might have your hands full with repairs down the road. The gaps are common in kit homes. But you can chink them with perm chink.
