Has anyone read this book? It sounds great! I haven't read it, but if any of the members has and comment on it, I'd really like to implement some of the options it promotes.

I checked it out at the library. Check your library to see if they have it. It has some good info about solar and wind. They didn't use the butt and pass method but has some good info for pitfalls they came across. I am sure the class offered on this site (Log Home Builders Association) will have more useful information for building with the butt and pass.

Again, not sure if I would buy it, but worth checking out at the library.

I have it. The author knows how to write, how to communicate. Although as mentioned they didn't use butt & pass, the book is very worthwhile for the other building info alone. I also have their solar power book...both are just really good info that shouldn't be missed.

I have no affiliation. And this is my first post!

I found it at the library and plan to read it. Thanks, Tim, for making your first post a comment about the book. I'm new to alternative energy, but very excited about building our log home and would like to incorporate sun and wind options where possible.
